When is the switch to all-digital TV?
On February 17, 2009 federal law requires that all full-power television broadcast stations stop broadcasting
in analog format and broadcast only in digital format. This frees up frequencies for public safety communications
(such as police, fire and emergency rescue). If you receive only free over-the-air television programming, or if
your TV is "analog" or "NTSC" and is not labeled as containing a digital tuner, you will no
longer be able to receive a television signal unless you purchase a digital-to-analog set-top converter box.
This might be the time to upgrade to a high-definition TV monitor for spectacular clarity and great surround
sound. We have dozens of options, all the way up to a complete home theater. Give

Why do I need structured wiring?
Don't assume that because you're building a new home, you are automatically getting a wiring infrastructure that
will allow for home networking, multi-room audio, home entertainment options, Internet phone service (VoIP),
electronic gaming, home automation, security and other electronic tools and services.
Unless your builder offers structured wiring, or unless you're working with a designer/installer like Automated
Lifestyles, you may be disappointed when you find your home is not ready for today's "wired" lifestyle.
Automated Lifestyles works with homeowners to determine your individual needs for now, and into the future. Then,
we develop a structured wiring plan and work with your builder to install only the
cabling before the walls are sealed. When your budget allows, we will install speakers, keypads, audio equipment
or whatever components you like.

Does home technology add to resale value?
As far back as February 2004, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) reported that home technologies are
"very important" in terms of marketing both new and existng homes. Today, with the advent of HDTV,
home automation, VoIP telephone service, electronic gaming, distributed audio and video and more, savvy buyers
will be seeking homes that can afford them the convenience of an electronic lifestyle.
